Missable Achievements & 100% Roadmap

Scarlet Deer Inn ships with ten Steam achievements. Several are decided during village errands; three are hidden on Steam until they fire; All Together is the rarest because it needs a full toy sweep across village and underground. This page is the practical single-save-friendly roadmap completionists asked for — with spoiler-labeled sections where the story matters.

Track progress: Achievement checklist, Achievements list. Deep dives: Village Choices, All Toys, Elder Tales.

Percentages on Steam move; use them as orientation, not targets.

Conflicting early gifts — two runs or one careful pass

Four village achievements come from different gifts, and you cannot hand both pie pieces or both drinks in one natural choice moment. Community completion guides (including 100% walkthrough summaries) converge on the same pattern:

Run A (story pass): unlock one pair intentionally — for example Plonk (cheap wine) + Fluffy Middle (middle pie piece).

Run B (New Game): unlock the opposite pair — Liquid Gold (quality mead) + Crispy Crust (burnt pie piece).

You can reverse the pairs; what matters is two intentional passes, not autopilot gifting. Full gift routing: Village Choices during Opening Village.

Tick each popup on the checklist immediately. Steam overlay text is the source of truth.

Neverending Tale — exhaust dialogue when clues send you to elders

Neverending Tale requires you to listen to all the local elder’s tales. The best window is surface village — but a critical beat arrives when the story sends you hunting Golden Distaff clues.

At that stage:

  1. Talk to the fisherman and local elder until no new tale prompts appear
  2. Let each story line finish; skipping mid-dialogue may not count
  3. Revisit after major story flags if new yarn options unlock
  4. Wait for Steam Neverending Tale before rushing into stealth or castle beats

Method page: Elder Tales. This is separate from Father Johannes church dialogue — exhaust the storyteller elder specifically.

Sweet Memory and All Together — toys

  • Sweet Memory — find the first toy (Horace help in the opening is the common path)
  • All Together — find every toy; typically the last achievement you clean up

Full method: All Toys with the collectible tracker.

Patch 1.014 fixed All Together unlocking early before you actually owned the full set. Update to 1.014+ (ideally 1.017) on Updates so your completion check matches Steam.

Spoiler warning for the video below

The embedded full-game walkthrough reveals late rooms, stealth routes, and finale staging. Use it after your own story pass or when you are deliberately hunting missables — not as a blind first playthrough.

Optional alternate visual companion (LP-style, community upload): YouTube — alternate full playthrough. We keep one embed here to avoid clutter; open the link if you prefer a second camera on the same beats.

Spoilers: Held Breath

Heavy spoiler — miller stealth during Golden Distaff

After the fisherman sends you toward Golden Distaff clues, you must reach a guarded chest tied to that thread. The miller patrols or watches the space. Held Breath unlocks when you sneak past the miller without being seen while still obtaining the Golden Distaff from the guarded chest.

Practical tips:

  • Save before entering the miller’s sight lines if your build allows
  • Move during patrol gaps; treat torch light as exposure, not comfort
  • If caught, reload and adjust timing rather than forcing combat routes the story may not reward
  • Confirm the Steam popup before leaving the area for good

Pair with torch discipline and chase calm — panic sprinting is how players miss stealth flags.

Spoilers: No Questions

Heavy spoiler — castle / lost-eye story beat

During the castle sequence around the lost-eye story beat, you meet a pantsless knight. No Questions requires the full courtesy loop:

  1. Talk to the pantsless knight when the scene presents him
  2. Fetch trousers from a chest in the scribe room (or equivalent labeled storage in that wing)
  3. Return the trousers and finish the exchange without skipping prompts

Do not mash through dialogue here — the achievement is the game noticing you completed the fetch politely. If Steam does not fire, backtrack to the scribe chest and confirm you picked up the correct garment before re-talking.

Spoilers: Reunited

Medium spoiler — finale

Reunited is story-gated: after the final boss, follow the staging that lets you free the children. Play through the post-boss scenes; do not exit early when control returns. This unlock usually lands for players who finish the campaign; it is missable only if you skip finale interaction or reload past the trigger.

Ending context: Complete Ending, Ending Explained.

  1. Village (Run A): intentional pie + drink pair; bank early toys; start elder/fisherman dialogue
  2. Golden Distaff beat: finish Neverending Tale; execute Held Breath stealth cleanly
  3. Castle beat: complete No Questions trouser loop
  4. Underground: toys in search windows per collectibles guide
  5. Finale: beat final boss; trigger Reunited
  6. Post-credits: sweep missing toys for All Together; verify Sweet Memory already ticked
  7. New Game cleanup: opposite pie + drink pair from step 1
  8. Stop at Steam 10/10

What not to trust

Ignore Roblox badge guides, private-server toy trading, or datamined coordinates this wiki has not verified. Scarlet Deer Inn is a single-player narrative game — achievements are receipts for attention, not grind currencies.

The Noon Witch story is why you play. These ten badges just prove you listened, sneaked, gifted, and searched when it counted.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Quick answers tied to this page.

Can I get all ten achievements in one playthrough?

Story hidden achievements and most toys fit one main save. Conflicting pie and drink pairs need a second New Game pass or intentional cleanup — see Village Choices.

Which achievements are hidden on Steam?

No Questions, Held Breath, and Reunited hide descriptions until unlock. This page labels their story beats under spoiler headings.

Why did All Together pop early?

Patch 1.014 fixed premature All Together unlocks. Update Steam and reconcile toys with the collectible tracker.

Do I need the full YouTube walkthrough?

No. It is optional visual backup after spoilers are acceptable. The written roadmap and chapter walkthroughs stand alone.

Is Neverending Tale missable after the pit?

Treat elder and fisherman dialogue during the Golden Distaff clue beat as priority. If you already passed it, check whether hubs remain reachable before assuming a second run.

Where is the interactive checklist?

Achievement checklist tool — tick boxes when Steam confirms each name.
